”I spoke with my Care Manager about getting some additional help so I could better support my mum with her dementia. I really appreciated the offer and opportunity to join Bright Care’s dementia training day in Perth.
Although I had read a lot about the condition, the training helped me understand the wider issues, particularly focussed on behaviours and how one might respond and care for someone with dementia. As a group we were encouraged to look at the condition from the perspective of the person with dementia and adapt our responses and care with that in mind. It really made me rethink the way I do respond, particularly in moments of conflict or tension. My take away was to be more patient!
I came away from the day with an increased confidence in Bright Care thanks to the professional way they train their staff and in the positive attitude of those I met there as well as those caring for my mother.
