What is an agency for care workers?

A care workers agency is a type of employment agency that recruits and connects Carers with individuals in need of their services. A care providers agency usually creates a package of care for the client using a bank of self-employed care workers. This method of providing in-home care may mean that the client does not get the same Carer each time.

Why we are not a care providers agency

Bright Care employs their daytime, live-in and overnight Carers directly, which means we are not a care providers agency.

We are a family-founded care company, offering tailored in-home care services to self-funding clients in their later years. All of our in-home care packages are designed with the individual needs of each client in mind. We take great care to carefully match our Carers with each client, allowing them to form meaningful relationships and bring joy to their later years. 

Although using an agency for care workers may be cheaper than the fully-managed care services we offer, we believe that the consistent companionship and high-quality in-home care we deliver isn’t possible through the care providers agency model of working. Because care providers agencies only facilitate an introduction between self-employed Carers and their clients, the agency is not obligated to be regulated by a national care body or to train their care workers. As the employer of your Carer, you would also be responsible for the legal employment contract with the Carer and for organising any cover required for holidays and absences. 

At Bright Care, our style of companionship care gives our clients full control over the care they receive. Our fully-managed in-home care service offers our clients and their family’s peace of mind and on-going support. Our care services are regulated by the Care Inspectorate in Scotland, and the Care Quality Commission in England.
