Are you looking for a career change at 50 plus?

Our jobs in care are for people who crave the satisfaction of positively impacting other people’s lives. We provide our employees with flexible hours, excellent training, good rates of pay and a supportive team. In return, our roles allow you to fit this meaningful work around other commitments, such as another part-time role or caring for your family. We have many excellent careers who have had previous experience working in nursing or care homes but want more job flexibility and the opportunity to spend quality time with their clients.

Whether you are new to the care industry or you are an experienced carer, we would love to hear from you. The most important attributes to us are your character, personality, caring nature, life experience and commitment. This is why we welcome applicants looking for a career change to a job with no prior care experience. We are keen to find the right people to become our next exceptional Bright Carers and offer comprehensive training to all our recruits.

As an in-home Care Assistant, you will visit clients in their own homes to provide care and companionship. This job is suitable for people who want to bring joy and purpose into elderly people’s lives. To find out more, read our advice on career change at 50.

We have three different Assistant Care roles at Bright Care:

Daytime Care Assistant – Our daily visits of two hours or more mean that that you are there for those little moments, like reading the papers, baking or drinking tea in the garden, ultimately building and nurturing relationships.

It’s nice to build a relationship with the client’s families as well. It is a really good feeling knowing that they trust you. The aim is to give them peace of mind that their loved ones are well cared for.

Naomi, Bright Carer

Live-In Care Assistant – You will live side by side with your client in their home to provide care and companionship. As well as everyday tasks, you will have time to build a nurturing relationship.

With live-in care you don’t have any time restraints, which I love! It means I can still get all those things done throughout the day, but then I also have all the time in the world to just talk and be present with my client.

Andrea, Bright Carer

Overnight Care Assistant – Working in a small team to look after your regular clients through the night. We have two options of overnight care assistant roles, sleepovers and waking nights.

Working with Bright Care is more than just a ‘job’, it gives you a sense of pride, achievement and fulfilment.

Yvonne, Bright Carer
