Bright Care was so proud to see our Client Cath and her Companion carer Keira on the BBC Breakfast programme on Saturday. Cath has been attending, with the support of her carers, Weekday wow factor’s day time disco on a Monday afternoon at the Sanctuary night club. Both she and her carers absolutely love their time and have made some great friends, as well as, dancing away. Cath’s full interview can be seen below.

In September, one of our clients Cath, along with her carer Keira, attended a day time disco in Glasgow’s West end.
The disco was held in the Sanctuary night club and was hosted by Weekday Wow factor, which you may have recently seen on STV news.
“Weekday Wow Factor is a public Heath Occupational Therapy organisation which uses motivating, exciting and adventurous leisure activities to enhance physical, mental and social health fun. Increasing Physical activity and social contacts are some of the lifestyle changes which help to prevent Dementia…. Lancet July 2017”
Weekday wow factor play host to a great many fun activities and we cannot wait to see what adventures Cath and our other clients get into going forward.
The Dunbartonshire team was saddened that one of their long standing carers, Alexis Higgins retired this past week. Alexis has worked for Bright Care since 2014 and has been a very valued member of the team. In her time with Bright Care, Alexis has had a greatly positive impact on both her clients and other care workers and has been awarded Carer of the Month more than once. The office team took Alexis out for lunch and presented her with a lovely bunch of flowers as a thank you. We wish Alexis all the best with her retirement and we hope to keep in touch and hear all about her adventures.
This week, Keira (one of our Companion Carers) escorted Cath, one of her clients, to the Lost Glasgow Exhibition.
They had a great day out and a fabulous trip down memory lane.
Since Launching in 2014, Lost Glasgow has developed a great following and have teamed up with the Glasgow City Heritage trust to put on this fabulous exhibition, which looks at many things from the cities multi faceted history. From the stunning features it holds to the hidden and humble areas, from the tenement housing to the fascinating great buildings and architecture.
The exhibition can be found at Glasgow City Heritage Trust (54 Bell Street, Glasgow, G1 1LQ) is running until the 31st August and is open: Monday – Friday 10-4pm and Saturdays: July 1st, 15th, 29th & Aug 12th from 12-4pm.
Admission is completely free and we hope that you have as much fun as Keira and Cath did.
On May 29th, Bright Care Dunbartonshire hosted its First Annual Garden Tea Party. Whilst the weather brought the event indoors, it didn’t dampen any one’s spirit as staff, clients and company friends enjoyed the day together. With fantastic food and a warm, chatty atmosphere, a great day was had by all! We are already looking forward to next year!
Donald and Tim putting the world to rights. Agnes, Cath and Keira enjoying the lovely company.
