What is home help for the elderly?

Our exceptional Bright Carers deliver elderly care at home to your loved ones and can assist with a wide range of practical tasks and personal care. With visits of two hours or more, our carers and clients can build meaningful relationships and enable your loved ones to remain living at home. 

Home help for the elderly, also known as domiciliary care services, is an hourly daytime or live-in care package tailored to the individual needs of the client and family. Our elderly home help service is available 7 days a week, 365 days of the year with visits from two hours.

Caring at home duties we can assist with include:

  • Consistent companionship (reading the newspaper, playing games, taking exercise)
  • Support with outings (grocery food shopping, hospital appointments, walks)
  • Help around the house (laundry, vacuuming, dusting)
  • Home-based activities (cooking, baking, gardening)
  • Support at social events (family gatherings, clubs, religious services)
  • Personal hygiene (assistance with washing and getting dressed)
  • Health and well-being (support with medications and exercise)
  • Personal administration (help with forms, letters, paying bills)

Our fully-trained Care Assistants deliver home help with  care and companionship at the centre. Their visits allow time for our Carers, clients and their families to develop meaningful relationships. 

It is so nice to build a relationship with the client’s families as well. It is a really good feeling knowing that they trust you. The aim is to give them peace of mind and I always try my best to be there for my clients. If any of my clients are ever down, I will try my best to cheer them up. If I have to do a silly dance to make them laugh, I’ll do it. Anything to make them happy.
