At Bright Care, we believe that later life should be full of joy and purpose and that starts with the people who make it happen, our Care Assistants.
Each year, we send out an employee questionnaire to all our Care Assistants. Itโs a chance for them to tell us whatโs working well and where we can do better. Weโre delighted that this year, 79% of our Bright Carers responded to our 2026 employee engagement survey and we received hugely positive feedback.
Happiness Score
Weโre thrilled to report that 90% of respondents agreed or strongly agreed with positive statements about their experience including; I enjoy my job, I am recognised and praised for doing good work and morale is high in my team, up from 88% last year.
Here are a few things they told us:
What I like most is knowing the work I do genuinely improves someoneโs day. I really value the supportive team culture. I also enjoy building meaningful relationships with the people I support, getting to know them, their stories, and what makes them feel valued is incredibly rewarding.
The fact we get to establish a good relationship with our clients due to the commitment the office has in matching us with the client, Bright Careโs policy of providing a good quality service and how varied our work can be.
I love that I am a valued member of a bigger team. I always have someone at the end of a telephone line when I need advice or guidance or just encouragement after a long day. I know the company has my back.
The level of genuine support offered whenever needed. Whether for us as a staff member or for a client and their families. Itโs done with care, consideration and respect for everyone involved.
Feeling like you’re part of something really special. I feel proud to work for Bright Care and the work we do across the board.
The best things about working for Bright Care
We asked our Care Assistants what they like most about working for Bright Care. The most common responses included: my clients, the management team, feeling supported, visits of two hours or more, flexibility and work/ life balance and building meaningful relationships.
Overall experience
As part of the employee engagement survey, we asked our Care Assistants to describe their time at Bright Care in three words. The top three most common answers, in order, were happy, proud, supported and the next top answers were satisfied, appreciated and valued. This is almost identical to our 2025 results.ย
Lindsay McLive, Head of Operations, who wrote the report said:ย
Itโs incredibly encouraging to see such consistent results again this year, especially that our carers continue to highlight our team culture, supportive management and our clients as what they value most. This really speaks to the strength of leadership across our branches and our shared focus on building meaningful relationships.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to respond so thoughtfully and honestly, your feedback gives us invaluable insight and helps us keep improving year on year.
