September saw the return of our team get away at Boreland on Loch Tay. Surrounded by stunning scenery and with hot tubs to relax in, staff were delighted to be back. This annual trip was a great opportunity to connect and unwind and also hear the latest company news, enjoy team building activities and celebrate our accomplishments with an awards evening.
Company news
We had a relaxed start to Thursday, doing some highly competitive painting after breakfast! Some staff took inspiration from the surrounding landscape while others painted the activities they were most looking forward to. Congratulations to Issy who won the prize for the best painting of the morning!
While our paintings dried, we heard from the leadership team. It was inspiring to look back over the year at our successes and look ahead to the future of the business. Bright Care is a positive and energetic business, always looking to develop and grow and it’s exciting to be part of that journey.
Offsite activities
No team retreat would be complete without some organised fun. This year, we split into three groups for offsite adventures with Highland Safaris and Splash Rafting. One group took a boat ride along Loch Tay, another went on a Land Rover safari while the most adventurous went white water rafting. It was a good opportunity to have fun and spend quality time with colleagues we don’t see day-to-day.
Awards ceremony
After some down time in the hot tubs, we came together for a delicious BBQ around an open firepit. Then it was time for our much anticipated awards ceremony. Staff have been working towards these awards all year and it is incredibly important to recognise and reward effort and hard work and those living the Bright Care values.

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed being part of the organising committee and bringing ideas to life to enhance the experience of my colleagues. A highlight this year was providing off site activities for the first time, such as white water rafting and Land Rover safaris!”
Our Bright Care team get away was an excellent reminder that although the team is spread across Scotland and England, we are all contributing to the shared goal of bringing joy to later years and are truly part of ‘one team’ who value and support one another.
