Senior Home Care Services in Edinburgh & East Lothian

Our Edinburgh office was our original office and remains our largest with 12 office staff and 90 care staff working from this office.  Alongside our care management team we also run our central support team from Edinburgh.

Our Edinburgh team is overseen by our registered manager Annie Brown.  She’s focused on nurturing a committed and cohesive team of professionals who are dedicated to providing the very highest levels of customers service.   We often host open days and seasonal events at our Edinburgh Office including our infamous annual summer BBQ, laid on for staff, their families and of course our clients.

Our Edinburgh office is situated in Liberton in an old farm steadings and with our extensive parking and a bus stop at the bottom of the lane its easy to access and always ready to accept visitors. There’s always fresh tea and coffee on the go and we welcome you to pop in for a visit anytime.

Areas We Serve

Our services are available throughout Edinburgh.  We also cover some towns and villages out with Edinburgh including, Ratho, Dalmeny, South Queensferry, Musselburgh and the East Coast, Dalkeith, Bonnyrigg and Penicuik.  We also provide Live in Care services to clients in the Borders and some parts of Fife. Bright Care offer Live in Care services that are an alternative to care homes in Edinburgh.

Hours of Operation

Our Edinburgh office is open Monday to Friday from 9am – 5pm.  From 5pm – 9pm we have a reduced staff team working from home available to you on the same contact number.   Out with these times we have an on call system, so there is always someone available to speak to from each office 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Respite Care

Tailored specifically to your situation our respite care service can provide you with as much or as little service as you  require, even including overnight home care if necessary. This service can allow a family member a few days or nights rest.

Live in Care

The most holistic type of service available.  A live in carer lives their life alongside  our clients day and night.  They will assist clients in what ever they require from practical tasks to day to day companionship as well as assisting them in running their home.  All activities of daily living can be managed by the carer and an active social life can be maintained by accompanying them to social events and outings. Care is generally provided by two carers on a week on week off basis to provide consistency and continuity.

Hourly Home Care

Offering visits from two hours or more at a time to suit you.  Our carers are both kind and warm-hearted ensuring you a quality caring service whether for two hours or more.

Welcome Home Service

It’s important to have a warm welcoming home to return to after a hospital stay if you live alone and we understand that someone can’t always be there but we can be.  For clients returning from a stay in hospital we ensure all of the important jobs are taken care of from an initial meeting and lift home from the hospital to unpacking bags, taking care of laundry, light housekeeping, shopping and meal preparation.

Overnight Home Care

Overnight home care is available throughout Edinburgh and the surrounding area.  Providing comfort and peace of mind, our overnight care service covers the hours from 10pm to 7am allowing our carers to assist you with settling down for the night, assisting throughout the night and assisting in the morning if required.

24 Hour Home Care

If a more comprehensive service is required for round the clock assistance, 24 hour home care is an option which can provide for even the most complex needs or palliative care.  Two or three carers will work together over twelve or eight hour shifts to ensure compassionate care and assistance is delivered in a consistent way.

Call Out & Emergency Service

An assurance that we are always available is one reason why our clients and their families feel confident and comfortable working with us.  We have team members available 24 hours via our dedicated call out and emergency phone number.

Annie Brown

Care Manager

Annie joined Bright Care in January 2016 as Care Manager for Edinburgh Office. Her previous Management experience was in Health and Social Care and Mental Health in Cumbria. She lives in West Linton with her husband Paul. a retired CEO. Annie loves sunshine, music, food and wine and walking her Dalmatian, Pongo!

Val Brown

Care Supervisor

Val joined the office team, as Care Supervisor, after working for a year and a half as a care worker. Having seen both sides of the job, Val and makes an excellent liaison with care workers to ensure that our clients are receiving the best care available. Val lives in Penicuik and has two grown up children.

Cheryl joined us in Nov 2016 as a Care Supervisor. She has worked in the Care Industry for several years, working for different Care Providers. Cheryl enjoys going out and about and meeting potential new clients and their families. In her spare time, Cheryl enjoys cooking, reading and spending time with her husband and two young children.

Carole joined Bright Care in April 2016 as a Care Supervisor for the Edinburgh Office. She previously worked as a Support Worker for young people with disabilities. Originally from France, she now lives in Morningside with her partner Aleix, who is an engineer, and she enjoys sport, social activities and crafts.

June joined Bright Care in 2016 after a long and enjoyable career as a nurse in the NHS in Edinburgh, specialising in Care of the Elderly. She now works part time supporting the Care Supervisors and Management Team. She lives locally with her husband and fills in her spare time with lots of hobbies, crafts and holidays.

Elisa is part of our Central Team and is responsible for supporting Bright Care's hiring needs across all of our branches. Originally from Italy, she moved to Scotland over 20 years ago and lives in Edinburgh with her 3 year old daughter Zimalia. Elisa is currently working through a Psychology & Counselling Degree and is a volunteer in her local Church's 'Kids Team'.

Alasdair joined Bright Care in June 2016 as our Coordinator and started as our ICT Manager in September 2017 Alasdair worked in computing for the previous 20 years.
